In 2020, I applied for a design competition for the WWF NZ to help raise awareness for the Bryde's Whale in the Hauraki Gulf, my design was then chosen and sponsored by Carnival Cruises, Princess Cruises, and a long amazing journey of working with Princess Cruises, designing and painting, I completed the design seen above.
It then went on to raise over $10,000 dollars for the conservation and raised awareness of the Bryde's Whale, an endangered species of whale.
Soon, Princess Cruises, got in contact with me saying they wished to unveil the sculpture aboard their star cruise ship - Majestic Princess, in the Hollywood conservatory, allowing me to come aboard and sail with them for a week, to then reveal the tail in all its beauty, where it will stay for years to come to help bring awareness to this whale in the Hauraki Gulf, sailing all around the world.
I am forever thankful to Princess Cruises and their amazing cooperation and giving me the opportunity to sail with them.
I am forever thankful to WWF for allowing me to take part in this amazing public art trail to help raise awareness for our endangered species and our oceans.
